Okay, so the story's a bit cliche. However, go hang out at high school and college reunions and you’ll notice this is exactly what happens in life. The question is, how does that happen so many times that the sharp, brilliant guy or gal is lagging behind that not-so-smart guy or gal?

Today, I want to emphasize the major trait that separates their destinies… Mindset…It's all about mindset. I'm not talking about visualization of desired wealth or other law of attraction stuff. (Don’t get me wrong, they are also important and could help in a massive way too…that's another blog article) icon smile How is That Idiot Getting Rich with Online Network Marketing and Not Me? There is one simple mindset that is the ultimate cause of our scenario above, and that mindset is being vulnerable. "What? You're saying I gotta be a whimp?" Not in the least!

Vulnerable…as in teachable, coachable, open to advice, and act on it with urgency. Just think about it for a minute…The "lag behind" people tend to over-analyze, they want to work out some of the kinks in the system, and end up trying to reinvent the entire wheel.

Mr. or Ms. Vulnerable, actually listens to the success coach and does what is taught. No question, no experiment, no improvisation. They focus and go for it, blinders on, straight ahead. Those of you who have a few years under your belt will remember the movie Forrest Gump. Probably the greatest two hour lesson on this very topic you'll ever find. Almost every segment in the movie, besides being entertaining, has an extreme learning point. Check it out in this new light and see what I mean.

Now, I’m not saying that you have to be this way for the rest of your life. But when you start in this industry, you really need to "empty your cup". Seriously, your mentor will have no place to fill you with knowledge if your cup is full…full of the know-it-all mentality.

Forrest Gump may have learned this quote from Johnny Wimbrey, or maybe the other way around -“When you are teachable, trainable and coachable you will be unstoppable."
